Hello, Obviously I'm new to HTPC did not even know what one was a month ago. Built a RPI2 with OpenElec. I had a question about if codecs were necessary and posted it on another forum. Got a response that made me feel like I was filling out a application for a firearm. Stern warning about what their media center was all about. I understand why it was necessary but I don't believe in suppressing anyone's interest in learning. I hope we can ask more open questions here. My first question is about the codecs, do they improve picture quality of say a live TV stream?
