Been using a WD TV (WIRED ETHERNET NOT STUPID WI-FI) for years. Even HTPC (WIRED ETHERNET NOT STUPID WI-FI) works it just has the "highly recommended" K400 keyboard and nightmare on my street touchpad that reacts when you look it -- but always takes the wrong action. Stick sucks for anything but PRIME movies. Takes 30 seconds to get 2% buffering, then plays....for a while. Then it stops, stutters, starts in slow motion with no audio.
BAD OPTION FOR STREAMING FROM MY GIGABIT ETHERNET NETWORK.
This site has great how-to info which gave me hope that the Stick (WHICH LIKE APPLE TV CANNOT EVER BE TURNED OFF WITHOUT UNPLUGGING -- MAJOR DESIGN FLAW!). But after trying to watch an hour of a Homeland episode and finally ending up going downstaris to get it on a USB stick and plugging it into the TV, I am not impressed. Never have been with any Amazon electronic product. They're not designed to do anything but sell merchandise, Kindle, Fire TV, all of them (bet the phone is a real gem!).
